A bit about me - Who is Neelam Dhanda

I was born in England, in a town called Wolverhampton. Here I studied and lived for two decades before moving to the city of London.

My heritage is Punjab, India. My parents and both sets of grandparents migrated to the UK in the late 1960's. England soon became their home where they lived, studied, worked and raised their families.

Like many, my parents bought property in India thinking one day they would retire there. However, destiny took a different turn resulting in them never benefitting from it.

Being one of 5 siblings, I lost our father at a young age. Mum raised us all single-handedly. And what a grand job she has done. Now, we are all fine young professional ladies doing mum proud.

After dad, we knew mum couldn't enjoy her and dad's dream home in India alone. We faced many challenges and ultimately decided to sell what my parents owned in India.

This is where my journey started. I explored the markets in England seeing what they offered and how they could help me. Nothing sat right with me. So I decided to do this myself. I took myself off to India and I learnt the law of the land. I explored the real estate business, ventured from one state to another and spoke to hundreds of dealers, brokers, builders, and advocates to say the least.

I always had a passion for property and over the years I attended many courses and seminars in the UK. I was soon able to use my worldly knowledge and put everything into reality. What started as a personal project soon turned into a mission and now a vastly growing successful business.

I live and work alternating between the UK and India. India has always been my happy place. Running this business has allowed me to not just fulfill my duty as a daughter but also fulfill my own dreams. Property was always my passion but I didn't know I was going to be the bridge between India and the UK.

Through my associations and experience, I was able to filter my resources. I'm proud to be working in collaboration with Unique Properties, who are a mirror version of myself when it comes to professionalism. Together we have a one-stop Property team, Unique by name and Unique by nature.

Had my father not bought property in India, I may not have ever created this business. So thank you, Dad, for being my foundation.
